This is just my IELTS preparation. My way of learning english and preparing for International English Language Training System Examination. Below are some of the possible questions asking in the IELTS speaking area.

What is your favorite movie and why you liked it?

My favorite movie is twilight. I like it because it is simple but romantic story. It’s all about the vampire man who fell in love with the human girl.

What is your favorite song and why you liked it?

My favorite song is The climb by Miley Cyrus. It inspired me a lot and reminds me that life is fair to everyone; either you are rich or poor. That each of us has its own challenge in life and has its own technique on how to overcome it.

How do you spend your spare time?

Well, surfing the net is my first priority – chatting and exchanging comments with my online friends is kind of interesting stuff for me. Listening music is my second priority and when I have an extra money I go shopping and watching movies with my best buds.

Tell me about your province.

Bacolod is the capital city of Negros Occidental. It is known as the city of smile because people there are very friendly and hospitable. We celebrate Masskara festival every first week of October. Bacolod is the city who produce high volume of sugarcane. It is also abounds of nature’s gift such as Mambucal and Guintubdan mountain resorts. Bacolod is 45 minutes away from Manila the capital city of the Philippines by plane and 18 hours by ship.

What are your favorite sports?

I play badminton and bowling, though, I am not that good in any kind of sports. I also love to play board games such as chess and scrabble, it can exercise your mind.

The important historic place.

It reminds of the past, the history of the place before. It shows people of new generation about the past events.

What is the important invention before the age of computer?

Televisions, that’s the easiest and fastest way of getting world news before the computer.

What’s the main difference between newspaper and magazine?

In newspaper all you can read is a news about economics, politics and everything that happening in your place or in your country. While in magazines, you can read news about your favorite showbiz stars and what’s the latest make-up and fashion threads.

Describe a happy event in your life?

Happy event, I think it’s when my sisters from Australia went to visit us here, in the Philippines. We gather together, the whole family. It was the perfect day that once happened in my life being with my whole family again after a long time.

What are the changes of city between now and past?

Well, there are a lot of malls now, a lot of new buildings, theaters, establishment and banks.

Does money represent happiness and why?

No, it doesn’t. The real happiness found not in money but in a good relationship that you have with your family and friends and those people around you.

Describe one of your neighbors

My neighbor is an attorney and her husband is a seaman, they have 3 kids, two boys and 1 girl. They are good to us, everytime they have a party in their house they never forgot to invite us. And if you have an emergency problem they are willing to help as long as they can. 

What is the difference between neighbors and friends?

Well, I’m closed to my friends, we share everything about life without shame, we enjoy the same stuff because we’re in the same age while my neighbors are not enjoying those stuff that I love and vise versa.

Describe one of the shopping centers you often go to

It’s called SM, short of Super Mall. I’m kind of comfortable shopping in SM because of their great services and great stuffs. I love their theaters, it’s very clean and pleasant and the screen is so big compare to other malls in my place.

Describe your favorite animal

My favorite animal is dog, I have a dog before her named was snow white because she’s very white. She was neat and smart dog, and she’s afraid and  just sitting everytime you shout at her.  She’s very sweet dog.

With the popularity of computers and Internet, will people lose their ability to write letters?

I don’t think so, not anytime we can use computer and not all people have a computers and know how to use it.

Describe the best present you have received

The best present I’d received was of course my family, but in terms of thing it’s a book from my sister, it’s a twilight saga book series. She knew that that was my favorite book and so she bought the four series in Australia and sent it to me here in Philippines.

In terms of the media, which do you think will play a main role in present giving, television, newspaper or Internet?

Definitely Internet, it’s very easy and very quick to find a news from the internet, everything is on the internet and anytime you can search different and latest news. Internet is very advanced and informative compare to television and newspaper.

Describe your holidays

I and my family went to a guintubdan mountain resort, we gathered there – all of my relatives, we prepared a lot of foods and we swam all day and we went to three high falls and took pictures and had fun in every animals and flowers that we saw for the first time.

What do you think of the importance of museums in history?

It reminds people about the past, about the history of one place. Especially for the new generation, who hadn’t witnessed the real event of the past.

Why do some people like party while others hate it?

Each of us has its own taste in everything, other’s like party because they love having fun through meeting new people and making new friends, dancing and negotiating while other’s hate party because they don’t like being with more people, they are loner and they enjoy doing different stuff alone than be with others.

Say something about the tourism development in Philippines, facility, services and the effect on environment.

What are the benefits of reading?

The benefits of reading is that, you can learn grammar if you are an english learner, you can learn a lot of things and it can make you relax, sometimes it can inspired you and give you knowledge about anything. You are updated and aware about your suroundings.

With the popularity of Internet, do you think newspapers and magazines will disappear?

I don’t think so, there are still people who prefer to read newspapers and magazines than using internet. Not all people know how to use computers and even don’t have a computers.

Describe a subject taught in your school?

Accounting, it’s all about business, financial statements, cash flows, everything related to business. How to become a succesful businessman or woman and we study about business laws. We learned how to recognized and to calculate accounting reports.

Tell me how you organize your study time?

Is there any difference between the traditional and modern educational systems?

What do you and your family like to do together?

Aside from attending mass every sunday, we sometimes gather together and doing stuff just for fun. Sometimes we go mountain climbing, since we have a  land far away from the city and you have to climb up the mountain to get there. It’s very far far away like, 2 kilometers of walk, but if you are having fun with each other, you can’t notice the high hills.

Where do you live now?

I live with my mom now, since I am the only single child here.

What kind of place do you live in (a house or a flat)?

A house, I live in a small subdivision.

Describe the neighbourhood that you live in at the moment.

I live in a small subdivision, it’s very peaceful place, very quiet and most of the people living there are professional, they have gone to the office everyday early in the morning and then go back at the evening and so there’s no time for us to chat with each other. In fact most of people living there didn’t know each other well, even though the subdivision is too small. There are 3 guards.

Have you ever had a full-time job? If you have, tell me about it.

Yes. I worked at a petroleum company as an accounting clerk. I checked the reports everyday and encode it in the computer using microsoft excel to double check the calculation and then enter it to quickbooks. I also calculate the income tax, the loss and over of every employee and reconcile our bank accounts. I’m also the one who assigned in a receivables and inventories.

What are (or were) the advantages and disadvantages of this job?

The advantages of that job was that, I learned so much from it and through it I know now how to use quickbooks and excel. The disavantages was that, the office was too far from my place, I have to wake up early in the morning like 5 am to prepare my breakfast and help myself. I have to be in the office 15 minutes before the office hour which is 8am and end 5pm. My travel time was 1 and half hour, actually the office is not that far but I have to give an extra time because traffic is so unpredictable.

What is your favourite pastime? Why do you enjoy doing this?

My favorite pastime is listening to music. I enjoy listening to music, especially if the song I am listening to is my favorite, it can relax your mind, it can help you forget your problem a while and it can make you smile.

Do you prefer indoor or outdoor activities? Why?

I prefer indoor activities, I’m a loner person and I’d rather stay home and watch movies than hanging out with my friends.

Do you belong to any clubs? If so, why did you join.

No, I don’t belong to any club.

Do you read much? What do you like to read?

I didn’t read much, but I love to read romantic books and magazines for the latest update about my favorite stars.

What else do you like to do in your spare time?

I think, hanging out with my family and friends.
